Krim
Philip serves as the Co-Founder and CEO at Montauk Capital. Before Montauk Capital, Philip most recently served as the Founder of Montauk Ventures, an early stage investment firm focused on investing in and helping Founders navigate the complexities of hyperscale. Before Montauk Ventures, Philip served as the Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman at Casper Sleep and oversaw the comprehensive business strategy, expansion, and vision for the company. Philip led Casper from its launch, to scaling the business to $500M+ in revenue, through its IPO on the NYSE, and the eventual sale and take-private of the business. A serial entrepreneur, Philip has founded two previous startups, where he focused on evolving consumer and e-commerce trends. Mr. Krim also currently serves as a Director of the Travis Manion Foundation and as a member of the Leadership Council of the Robin Hood Foundation. He received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Evan serves as the Co-Founder and CEO at Montauk Capital.
Evan Caron was previously Head of Venture Investments at Riverstone (Riverstone Private Equity), a $40B+ energy investment and infrastructure firm. Prior to that, Evan was CEO and Co-Founder of ClearTrace, an ESG data management platform focusing on tracking corporate emissions and environmental reporting. Evan is also a Co-Founder of Daylight Energy, an early stage community energy software network. As a cofounder of HGP Storage, Evan was active in building an in-front-of-the-meter utility scale battery storage business with over 400MW/800MWh of capacity. Evan serves on the Board of RPower, a distributed energy solutions platform backed by Isquared. Evan previously held a Board position in a large retail energy provider, MP2 Energy, which was acquired by Shell in 2017. Evan brings over 20 years of experience in managing energy, electricity risk, and other complex commodity structures while working at Deutsche Bank, Mercuria, and Trailstone.

Sharo Atmeh is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Montauk Capital. Sharo is responsible for evaluating investment prospects, overseeing investment processes and day-to-day operations of the firm including all administrative, compliance, and fund operations. He is a member of the Montauk Capital Venture Fund I Investment Committee.
Prior to Montauk, Sharo built out an energy technology investing platform at Alyeska Investment Group (2018–2024), a $31B+ AUM hedge fund. At Alyeska, Sharo was a Portfolio Manager and among the initial and largest investors in a number of growth-stage public companies spanning all cleantech verticals including solar, hydrogen, wind, energy storage, and utilities. In addition, he ran sustainability integration and engagement programs.
Sharo also helped establish a Fortune 50 sustainability advisory firm and sold it to PJT Partners. Before that he practiced law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and clerked for a federal judge as well as the SEC. Sharo graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science, Journalism and Philosophy, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School., and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Michael, a seasoned investor at the intersection of energy, infrastructure, and technology, serves as a Partner at Montauk Capital, where he leads venture investments across the firm’s focus areas and is a member of the Montauk Capital’s Investment Committee.
Before Montauk Capital, Michael led private-company investments at Wellington Management’s Private Climate Investment Fund, overseeing venture and growth-stage investments across the energy and built-environment sectors. During his tenure, he served on the boards of Orennia and TS Conductor following Wellington’s lead investments in those category-defining businesses.
Earlier in his career, Michael was a Founding Partner of Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), an Alphabet-backed spin-out that builds and operates technology-enabled infrastructure businesses. At SIP, he led investments and company formation efforts across distributed energy, the circular economy, and digital infrastructure. Prior to SIP, he was part of Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs investment team, launching and leading venture investments and incubations in urban and industrial technologies spanning energy, water, and waste systems.
Michael began his career in finance at J.P. Morgan before moving into project finance and infrastructure roles at institutions including Macquarie Group, where he structured and financed power and utility projects across North America.
In addition to his work at Montauk, Michael teaches at New York University’s Center for Global Affairs and advises early-stage technology founders on strategy and capital formation.
Michael holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics from Brown University.

Kirk serves as a Partner at Montauk Capital. Prior to Montauk, Kirk served as the first-ever head of Climate and Impact and a member of the Senior Operating Committee at Vista Equity Partners, where he led the design, implementation, and leadership of climate and impact investing and value creation initiatives across $100 billion in assets under management. Before Vista, Kirk was an early member of the Sustainability Team at TPG. His efforts demonstrated the positive financial impact of sustainability and climate initiatives across hundreds of investments and contributed to the launch of The Rise Fund. Kirk also held senior roles at PwC, where he built early impact investing and climate programs for PE and VC firms, and at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where he partnered with The Carlyle Group and KKR on sustainability operations and investment initiatives. Kirk also serves as a board member for GTech, a technology and innovation school in Armenia. Kirk has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.

Greenberg
Amber is the Head of Talent at Montauk Capital, where she leads search and talent strategy for early-stage climate tech ventures. Prior to Montauk, Amber was Director of Talent at Redesign Health, a venture platform that has launched over 60 companies in health tech, SaaS, and data analytics. There, she built and scaled the internal executive search function and led C-level and founding team searches across the portfolio. Earlier in her career, Amber held senior recruiting roles at TalentRise Executive Search, Switchyard, Charter Computer Services, and Harris Allied, where she partnered with VC and PE partners to build their executive leadership and technology teams, with a focus on early stage companies. Amber attended the University of Michigan and majored in Economics.

Mahsa is a Senior Principal at Montauk Capital, where she focuses on deal sourcing, diligence, execution and supporting portfolio companies post-investment. Prior to joining Montauk Capital, Mahsa was an investor at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), where she evaluated new technology-enabled infrastructure investments across the energy and digital infrastructure sectors and worked closely with portfolio companies on value creation activities. Prior to joining SIP, Mahsa was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, where she focused on growth-related efforts, advising banking, energy, and infrastructure clients across North America and the Middle East on strategy, corporate finance, and operations topics. In addition, she worked at the World Economic Forum’s New York office in their Urban Mobility group. Mahsa holds a dual master’s in Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Toronto.

Gusty serves as Principal at Montauk Capital. Prior to joining, Gusty helped build Riverstone Ventures, Riverstone Holdings’ early-stage climate tech investment platform where she worked on all aspects of the investment process culminating in 30 platform investments. She also worked on the formation and IPO of a Riverstone SPAC focused on nature-based solutions for decarbonization. In addition to her investing roles at Riverstone, she worked with the firm’s energy and power portfolio companies to meet investor requirements for ESG and impact reporting. Prior to Riverstone, Gusty led the fundraising and partnership programs for the Montana Land Reliance, the largest state-based land trust in the United States. She has served on nonprofit governing and advisory boards for groups including the Montana Environmental Information Center (MEIC), the Montana Land Reliance, Trout Unlimited, and the Montana Master Hunter Program. Gusty received a BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University and an MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Matt is a Principal at Montauk Capital, where he focuses on early-stage investments and incubations across the climate technology ecosystem. Prior to joining Montauk Capital, Matt was a Vice President at Energy Impact Partners (EIP), where he invested in over 20 companies across the climate and energy innovation landscape and held multiple board seats. Before EIP, Matt worked in investment banking at Oppenheimer & Co., where he supported M&A and capital raising efforts for clients in the technology, media, and telecom sectors. He began his career as a Junior Equity Research Analyst at Chardan Capital Markets, where he built financial models and conducted investor diligence across small- and mid-cap companies. Matt holds a dual degree in Finance and Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.

Patricia Tang serves as Senior Associate at Montauk Capital. Prior to Montauk, Patricia was an investor at Virta Ventures, an early-stage energy and infrastructure software fund, where she contributed to 10 platform investments and led thematic research and content development initiatives.
Before joining Virta Ventures, Patricia was Product Manager of New Ventures at ThredUp, where she built and scaled new products from concept to launch across the company. At ThredUp, she helped grow the Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) B2B recommerce platform from pre-revenue to scale, collaborating with teams at brands such as J.Crew, Madewell, and Athleta to develop and expand circularity programs.
Patricia began her career supporting the investment team at Amino Capital, a seed fund focused on data-driven technologies, and at Strategy& (PwC), advising consumer and retail clients on innovation and growth strategies. She holds a B.A. in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences, Economics, and Music from Northwestern University.

Estie is the Platform Associate at Montauk Capital. Prior to Montauk, Estie assisted the Publications team at leading talent agency Creative Artists Agency (“CAA”, 2019–2023), where she supported two literary agents on publication workstreams serving CAA’s client base. As part of her work, Estie collaborated closely with CAA’s authors across genres, including award-winning writers and prominent figures. Her time at CAA gave her a front-row seat to the storytelling process and sharpened her ability to support creative talent — skills she brings to her work with founders today. Estie holds a B.A. in English and Political Science from Columbia University. She also participated in Cohort 7 of the Climatebase Fellowship.
